Lasers work from the outside, detecting the hair pigment (MELANIN). This means there needs to be a strong contrast between the skin (white) and the hair (dark) to effectively reduce the amount of hair a person has. In contrast, electrolysis permanently eliminates the cells responsible for hair growth. It attacks the hair follicle from the inside leading to the direct destruction of the cells responsible for hair growth, while protecting the skin's surface.

There are a number of factors that can cause unwanted or excess hair. These include hereditary conditions, medication for certain illnesses, hormonal changes and stress. Also Temporary methods of hair removal(waxing and tweezing) can cause an increase in hair growth.
A pregnant woman should generally not undergo electrolysis treatments during the first three months of pregnancy. Why? In order to keep sources of stress to a minimum during this higher-risk period. After the first trimester, she can undergo hair removal treatments using high-frequency current only. We do ask for medical clearance, to make sure her pregnancy is going well amd no complications are expected.
